USAF partners with Colombian Air Force for Operation Snowbird

DAVIS-MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz., -- Col. Jose Sanchez, 12th Air Force (Air Forces Southern) Director, Plans and Requirements, prepares to take a “simulated” ride in a Kfir, one of the many aircraft brought to the base by the Colombian Air Force in support of Operation Snowbird, July 6, 2012. Operation Snowbird provides support for visiting flying units from U.S. military installations and allied partners needing to train in the optimal weather conditions and ample ranges of Southern Arizona. The Colombian Air Force’s participation in Operation Snowbird will prepare them for a future Red Flag “deployment” to Nellis AFB, Nev. During the Red Flag exercise, Colombia will add its name to the 28 other countries who have participated in these exercises since 1975. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airmen Brittany N.
