All-Dental Readiness Training Exercise

Capt. Heather Tellez, 1st Dental Squadron dentist, and Staff Sgt. Julian Moore, 2nd Dental Squadron dental assistant from Barksdale Air Force Base, La. take care of a patient while deployed to Zacatecoluca, El Salvador with first-ever All Dental Readiness Training Exercise team. DENTRETE is the first humanitarian mission of its kind, and personnel deploy with modern equipment and supplies to provide a full spectrum of dental care. For the duration of the mission the dental team provides care to include dental restorations (fillings), endodontics (root canals), extractions and dental prophylaxis (dental cleanings). The staging area for the treatment was out of Destacamento Militario number nine in Zacatecoluca, El Salvador Sept. 8-18. Surrounding communities were transported in for the free dental care over this 10-day period. (photo provided by 1st Dental Squadron)
