Brazilian students visit D-M
A Brazilian engineering student snaps a picture of the U.S. Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II’s GAU-8/A 30mm cannon, capable of firing 3,900 rounds per minute, at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, July 24. The students were in Tucson, Ariz., visiting the nearby Raytheon Company as part of Brazil’s Science Without Borders program and requested the opportunity to visit D-M. The A-10 is a close air support aircraft that has proven invaluable to the United States and its allies in operations including Desert Storm, Southern Watch, Provide Comfort, Desert Fox, Noble Anvil, Deny Flight, Deliberate Guard, Allied Force, Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
