PANAMAX 16

U.S. Air Force members collaborate with one another during PANAMAX 16 at Davis-Monthan AFB, Ariz., July 29, 2016. A total of nineteen nations are participating with the United States during the seven-day exercise simulating the defense of the Panama Canal, a vital waterway, and the surrounding region against threats from violent extremism. The exercise tests the multinational coalition on command and control of sea, air, cyber and land forces, as well as their ability to provide humanitarian relief. The goal of PANAMAX is to increase the ability of nations to work together, enable assembled forces to organize as a multination task force, and test their responsiveness in combined operations.
