AFSOUTH Airmen revitalize women's and children's shelter

Fifteen Airmen from the U.S. Forward Operating Location pause for a photo while revitalizing the Kas Broeder Pius Women’s and Children’s Shelter, Oct. 25, 2014. The Airmen partnered with six local high school students and their families to paint the compound walls and clear debris in order to enhance the living space for residents. Kas Broeder Pius provides a safe living environment for teenage women who are pregnant or have small children. Col Alexandre Alves, Brazilian Air Force Liaison Officer to 12th Air Force (Air Forces Southern) presents Maj. Oscar Parra, 12th Air Force (Air Forces Southern) Regional Affairs Strategist, with the Brazilian Air Force Santos-Dumont Medal before a staff meeting on Oct. 22, 2014 at Davis-Monthan AFB, Ariz. The medal is granted by the commander of the Brazilian Air Force, General Juniti Saito, to individuals who have made valuable contributions to the Brazilian Air Force. AFSOUTH Airmen deliver 500 lbs. of clothing to orphanage

Fifteen Airmen from the U.S. Forward Operating Location visited the children and staff of Siloam Orphanage to deliver 500 lbs. of donated clothing, Oct. 8, 2014. Siloam Orphanage cares for children with a variety of needs, from toddlers who have been abandoned to children who have mental and physical disabilities.
