Total Force Integration Moves Forward

WASHINGTON --  A major milestone was reached Friday when the Commander of Air Combat Command, Gen. Ronald E. Keys, and the Commander of Air Force Reserve Command, Lt. Gen. John A. Bradley, signed a memorandum of understanding between the active duty and reserve fighter wings at Hill AFB, UT. 

This memorandum formally establishes the Total Force Integration association between the two units, and enables them to move forward with one mission as the Hill Total Force Fighter Wing. 

This is a critical part of the Total Force Integration concept that has guided recent integration efforts between the Active Duty, Air National Guard, and Air Force Reserve. With the Air Force facing increasing modernization and recapitalization challenges, it is making transformational changes to maximize the advances already made and will continue to make. Associating Active, Guard and Reserve units leverages the strengths of each to increase the overall contribution to the Air Force missions. 

The TFI association has gone from a future concept to reality at Hill and will serve as the Air Force benchmark for integrating components of the Total Force. New organizational constructs such as Hill's, combined with new programs, forces and technology will ensure the Air Force is prepared to meet the challenges of the present and future. 

SENIOR LEADERS ARE SAYING..."Total Force Integration capitalizes on the inherent strengths of the different Air force components," said Lt. Gen. Norman Seip, commnader 12th Air Force and Air Forces Southern. "The Air Force team of Active Duty Airmen, Air National Guardsmen and Air Force Reservists provide the Joint Force with highly skilled, experienced and dedicated Airmen to the mission. TFI enhances our combat and joint enabling capabilities today and well into the future."
