DAVIS-MONTHAN AFB, Ariz. -- Tech Sgt. Anthony Moore, 12th Air Force (Air Forces Southern) weapons safety manager, was recognized as the Warfighter of the Week, June 29, 2015.

Moore, a native of New Bern, North Carolina, has been serving in the Air Force for 18 years. After graduating high school and attending college for a semester, Moore decided to join the Air Force.

As a weapons safety manager for 12th AF (AFSOUTH), he manages the safety program for eight subordinate wings and one direct reporting unit. He also provides maximum possible protection to personnel and property, both inside and outside the installation.

"Working in safety you're charged with ensuring others comply with the rules and regulations to prevent mishaps both on and off duty.  So when I think of someone who goes above and beyond the call of duty, to adhere to and enforce standards, I couldn't think of anyone better than Moore," said Mr. Vernon Lucas, 12th AF (AFSOUTH) chief of safety.

Moore's strive for excellence has shown in both his work ethic on duty, which resulted in him being selected as the 2012 Air Force Safety Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year, but has also led him to continue his dream of pursuing higher education.

"I've pursued my education so relentlessly because in the end I want to set a good example for my children," said Moore.

During his time in the Air Force, Moore has completed Bachelors of Applied Science degrees in Information's Technology and Applied Management, and in 2012 earned his Masters of Science in International Relations.
