Twelfth Air Force (Air Forces Southern) hosted Chilean and U.S. Airmen-to-Airmen talks Nov 29-30.

The Chilean delegation and Twelfth Air Force (Air Forces Southern) members discussed, planned and reviewed bilateral activities between the two countries for the current and upcoming fiscal year, ensuring that the events continued to build on the foundations already laid by previous engagements. Activities included subject matter expert exchanges, military training teams, key leader engagements, and when possible synchronizing State Partnership Program events.

“We sit down with high level officials and we lay out what they want to do and how we can fit that into our strategy” said Col. James Breck, 12th Air Force (Air Forces Southern) plans, requirements, programs director.

Twelfth Air Force (Air Forces Southern) synchronizes their priorities with the events with a strong emphasis on humanitarian assistance and disaster relief and also developing partner’s capabilities through command and control, operational ability, mission support, as well as Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance.

“These talks are very important for our bilateral partnership,” Breck said. “When we’re able to bring a high level delegation from the Chilean Air Force here it really shows our commitment to our bilateral relationship and partnership. It allows us to make sure that we are planning these events at the highest level with very high level approval.”

Twelfth Air Force (Air Forces Southern) is the air and space component to U.S. Southern Command. Air Forces Southern is responsible for all U.S. Air Force personnel in Central and Southern America and the Carribean, as well as, conducting security cooperation and providing air, space and cyberspace capabilities throughout the 31 nations within that area.
