ACOMS First Six Association lauded by Tucson Community Published Nov. 8, 2013 By 12th Air Force (Air Forces Southern) Public Affairs DAVIS-MONTHAN AFB, Ariz. -- A ceremony honoring the 612th Air Communication Squadron's First Six Association was held in the Tucson community, Nov. 7. The group was officially recognized by several community leaders at Erikson Elementary School for adopting one of Tucson's local parks, Vista del Prado Park. The Vista del Prado Park project was taken on by Tech. Sgt. Edwin Lopez and Tech. Sgt. Casey Steuber after they were elected to the First Six Council last year. During a six-month span of time, 51-members of the organization donated more than 82.5 off-duty hours to keeping the park clean. The group organized regular litter cleanups, provided work reports on the area's condition, and alerted officials of any emergency needs. "Cleaning the park gives us an opportunity to give back to our local community," said Tech. Sgt. Edwin Lopez, 612th ACOMS First Six Association president. "It's all part of our duty as Airmen."
