Airmen volunteering in Tucson
Members of 12th Air Force (Air Forces Southern) volunteer as part of the Tucson Clean and Beautiful program to clear area roadways of trash and debris Oct. 4. More than 20 volunteers participated in the program, clearing a mile-long stretch of highway near the Pima Air Museum in Tucson, Ariz. 12th AF (AFSOUTH), based at nearby Davis-Monthan AFB, is responsible for the combat readiness of 10 active-duty wings by preparing Airmen and more than 730 aircraft for worldwide deployments, including in direct support of combat operations in Afghanistan. In the organization’s AFSOUTH role, Airmen plan and coordinate U.S. Air Force involvement and partnership building efforts throughout Central America, South America and the Caribbean.
