Healing hands visit Honduras hospital
Army orthopedic surgeons Lt. Col. Chris Wilson (left) and Maj. Pat Pollock (center) work to repair a patient's congenital hand deformity as scrub nurse Leo Vasquez assists. The medical team is visiting Honduras as part of a hand-surgery Medical Readiness Exercise, commonly called a MEDRETE, Aug. 13-24. Medical personnel from military installations across the United States joined with personnel from Soto Cano Air Base in Honduras to conduct the MEDRETE. The MEDRETE team anticipates treating nearly 100 patients by the end of the exercise. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Sonny Cohrs.
