Operation Southern Partner
Chilean “tias,” which in Spanish means "aunt," a term used for endearment of older women or foster mothers, try peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the first time while sharing a cultural exchange Oct. 29 at the ALDEAS SOS orphanage in Santiago, Chile. Airmen, a Soldier and U.S. civilian volunteers visited the orphanage for a cultural exchange of food and camaraderie as part of Operation Southern Partner -- a Twelfth Air Force (Air Forces Southern) led event aimed at providing intensive, periodic subject-matter exchanges in the U.S. Southern Command area of focus.
