Airmen continue building South American partnerships
Staff Sgt. Lee Fortner, an aircraft maintainer from the 355th Maintenance Group at Davis Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz., demonstrates how to build a model airplane to orphans at a Santiago, Chile orphanage on Oct. 30. Sergeant Fortner is one of about 70 Airmen spread across four South American countries learning and sharing with their partner nations' military members and performing community outreach events as part of Operation Southern Partner -- a Twelfth Air Force (Air Forces Southern) led event aimed at providing intensive, periodic subject-matter exchanges in the U.S. Southern Command area of focus.
