Airmen, Chilean school 'partner' to teach children aviation
Maj. Jason Couisine (left) the Air Force section chief at the U.S. Military Group in Chile, and Arlene Dickson, corporate relations manager at Agilent Technologies, acted as schoolteachers during a guest science class at the Complejo Educacional Esperanza School in Santiago, Chile on Oct. 27. The community outreach event was part of Air Forces Southern's Operation Southern Partner, an all-new program aimed at providing intensive, periodic subject matter exchanges with partner nations in the U.S. Southern Command area of focus. Volunteers from Agilent and the U.S. Military Group worked alongside Air Forces Southern, the Chilean air force and members of the U.S. Embassy to teach local school children the practical applications of scientific principles by building and flying model airplanes.
