Lt Col Cole, retired Doolittle Raider

Lt. Col. Richard Cole, a retired Doolittle Raider, looks through the heritage display in the 612th Air and Space Operations Center on Davis-Monthan AFB, Ariz., Feb. 25, 2014. The 612th AOC was named the James H. Doolittle Center in honor of the Doolittle Tokyo Raiders. Eighty men participated in the raid and on April 18, 1942, they took off from an aircraft carrier on a top secret mission to bomb Japan led by Lt. Col. James H. "Jimmy" Doolittle.
