Santos-Dumont Medal Awarded to members of 12th Air Force
Col Alexandre Alves, Brazilian Air Force Liaison Officer to 12th Air Force (Air Forces Southern) presents Maj. Oscar Parra, 12th Air Force (Air Forces Southern) Regional Affairs Strategist, with the Brazilian Air Force Santos-Dumont Medal before a staff meeting on Oct. 22, 2014 at Davis-Monthan AFB, Ariz. The medal is granted by the commander of the Brazilian Air Force, General Juniti Saito, to individuals who have made valuable contributions to the Brazilian Air Force. Parra’s dedication has directly influenced the success of several bilateral engagements, utilizing his personal and professional knowledge of international relations to move the mission forward; to include working with his leadership in order to advocate for emerging events, not initially available for the Brazilian Air Force.
