Gabriela Mistral Groundbreaking Ceremony

Members of the 823rd Expeditionary RED HORSE Squadron use a screen to sift through dirt, which will be used to create mortar for the bricks used in the creation of the new building at the Gabriela Mistral school in Ocotoes Alto, Honduras, June 1, 2015. The RED HORSE members are in Honduras to participate in a New Horizons training exercise taking place throughout Trujillo and Tocoa. New Horizons was launched in the 1980s and is an annual joint humanitarian assistance exercise that U.S. Southern Command conducts with a partner nation in Central America, South America or the Caribbean. The exercise improves joint training readiness of U.S. and partner nation civil engineers, medical professionals and support personnel through humanitarian assistance activities.
