  • U.S. Air Force hydrazine team train Chilean Airmen

    A U.S. Air Force hydrazine Mobile Training Team traveled to Los Condores Air Base, Chile, to conduct classroom instruction and hands-on training with Chilean Air Force fuels technicians. Hydrazine is a back-up fuel used in F-16 Fighting Falcons that allows a pilot to regain control in the event of an electrical or hydraulic failure. When the hydrazine is released it creates a chemical reaction that allows the pilot to manually maneuver the aircraft in order to land it safely. The two-man team taught seven Chilean fuel Airmen how to properly assemble, operate and maintain their new hydrazine servicing stand. The stand is used to refuel and defuel, purge, and prepare a shipment of hydrazine tanks.
  • Central American and Caribbean Air Chiefs Visit Twelfth Air Force (Air Forces Southern)

    Twelfth Air Force (Air Forces Southern) hosted the Central American and Caribbean Air Chief’s conference with participants from Colombia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico and Panama, Nov. 6-8, 2018.
  • 12th Air Force (Air Forces Southern) Air Force Section Chief Theater Security Cooperation Workshop

    The workshop brought key personnel together to discuss strategy and to plan fiscal years 2019-2021 events in 12th Air Force’s (Air Forces Southern) Area of Responsibility. Seventeen Air Force Section Chiefs, fourteen National Guard Bureau State Partner Program representatives, as well as, air advisors from the 571st Mobility Support Advisory Squadron, officials from U.S. Southern Command and Secretary of the Air Force International Affairs joined members of 12th Air Force (Air Forces Southern) for the workshop.
  • Airmen use special experience to foster relationships during Global Health Engagement

    A team of five Airmen, two with a special experience identifier earned through the International Health Specialist (IHS) program, traveled to Tegucigalpa, Honduras to work side-by-side with their Honduran air force counterparts during a subject matter expert exchange here, April 3. Airmen with an IHS certification were able to provide diversified international skills and knowledge of military and civilian health disciplines used to facilitate the five-day engagement by enabling flight medicine knowledge to be shared across a language barrier, which helps strengthen partnerships.
  • U.S., Honduran air force share best medical practices

    Five U.S. Airmen conducted a subject matter expert knowledge exchange with their Honduran counterparts to share best practices and increase partner nation capacities in aerospace medicine from April 4-6.
  • Visiting Colombian Airmen donate supplies for Louisiana flood victims

    Colombian Airmen visiting Barksdale Air Force Base, La., donated supplies Aug. 27, 2016, to the local Salvation Army for delivery to relief centers in central Louisiana following weeks of torrential rain and flooding in the region.
