Team Iguana
Senior Master Sgt. Olga Maldonado wasted no time getting involved with the community. Within two weeks of her arrival, she joined the Chaplain Corps team in visiting the Siloam orphanage. While visiting, she saw the operations of the orphanage, met with the director and his wife, and had the opportunity to interact with some of the children. Exchanging “high-fives” and laughing with a terminally ill 4 year old was without question a ray of light for the youngster. Before leaving, Sgt. Maldonado presented Herman Gijsbers with $150.00 while the rest of the members of the 429th EOS donated clothes, toys, and food for the orphanage. Sergeant Maldonado concluded her visit by saying, “It was a touching experience and I look forward to making a greater impact during my time here. They definitely blessed me in ways I cannot describe.” (Courtesy photo)
